But is 'host' the right collective noun for phantoms? Might there be a specific term for ghosts that would enable me to say: 'a [?] of royalty'? --------------------- Date: Mon, 6 Nov 2000 From: David Ibbetson, ibbetson@idirect.com "Host" and "legion" are dated words and many don't know what they mean. Use "army". It has an immediacy that the others lack. --------------------- Date: Wed, 8 Nov 2000 From: Nick Hudson, hudson@c031.aone.net.au Assuming that the text requires a collective noun which is not just a joke, I would suggest 'show', the reference being of course to the 'show of kings' in Macbeth. ---[4] Business matters --------------------------------------- ** [4dv] Book scheduling software or project management Date: Wed, 1 Nov 2000 From: Patti Ordower, pordower@libertyfund.org I'm looking for methods or systems others are using to manage their book schedules. Our new vice president is looking for scheduling software tailored to the publishing industry. I've cast about a bit to colleagues and found that some use MS Project, two use spreadsheets, another an Access database, and several still use meetings between managers and staff with paper and pen. Does software for scheduling book projects exist? Information, names, tips, and/or pet peeves anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. ---[5] Bookmarks ---------------------------------------------- Date: Wed, 1 Nov 2000 From: Jane Dorner, jane@editor.net internetwriter - new URLs There are now over 1000 writers' links at < http://www.internetwriter.co.uk > and they all work.
